protest, but not full of smelly punkers

So I don’t seem him anywhere near as much as I would like to, but I have this friend tim. He takes pictures. They’re good. I usually like them because he can make it look like I’m actually climbing something and not about to fall off. But his other pictures are good too. In particular, he has a series that he just took about the whole Gallaudet president controversy. Now, I really don’t know enough about this to make any kind of informed statements about it so I won’t. But what I can say is that his pictures really capture the protest/arrest situation better than any I have ever seen. check them out.

Go See a Movie
posted by jim at 9:43 am

Last night we went to go see HAMILTON. It was filmed in Baltimore in teh neighborhood of the same name. It’s good. You should go see it. It is showing this week at the Rotunda. I think it closes this week also, but I’m not sure.

the idea was that I would update regularly from interbike but then i realized that time in las vegas was better spent in las vegas than at the computer.

following the first day, I went back to the hotel, jennifer jet lag fell asleep and I began my way toward the palms for the debut party for the Kona new world disorder video. I’m not really into downhill or freeride mtb stuff, but I figured it was a big party with an open bar and lots of people. Well first let me show you how far it is to the palms from our hotel
.

I guess it wasn’t that far, but it felt far. when I arrived, I saw the tattoo shop from that INKED show. so I knew just where to go to get a cheesy tattoo done. but I decided to go into the party instead. The first disappointment, no one was swimming and it was a pool party. second disappointment, no open bar. the video was cool, not entirely unlike this video. . but not worth the long walk.

split a cab back with a bunch of guys. the cab driver kept swearing about how his last fare was “some fucking farmer from some fucking place like Oklahoma or Alabama or some shit.” and how he didn’t pay his fare.

because I was no longer tired (my jet lag worked backwards). I went to the stardust and promptly lost $20 playing blackjack.
