February 28
a warm day in februari
posted by mike at 11:15 am

so on February 28 , 2004 it was in the high 40’s almost 50, and crazy sunny… it was a nice break from the winter months… Today 3 years later, the sun is shining and and the high is supposed to be 49 deg…. today holden turned 3.

I can say w/ out a doubt, the past 3 years have been amazing, and life changing. Holden has really helped me realize whats really important, and I probably could never explain it fully to him… ever…. anywho… in short… holden when you read this on the way back machine … know I loved you… and thank you.

happy birthday little man

also I put up a gallery of holdens second year … so go check it out…

*on a related geeky note… this is a beta release of an app called photopath ive been working on, which hopefully will have the time to finish in the initial release, and then publicly release it under gpl.

the list
posted by mike at 9:59 am

so ive been very lapse in posting, I have a bunch of technical stuff I want to post, but need to find the time to install some code pluggins etc… anywho, this post is nothing about that… this is a list…

one thing I can say for sure I picked up from my grandmother is a love and desire for travel.  Recently I had needed to excersize this demon so desperatly.  So as I listened to Ghost Mice “europe” on the drive in and as I coded, I decided I needed to make a list of all the places I want to travel to.  If you figure I have 2 - 3 weeks of vacation from now until I stop working traditional jobs… lets do some math… lets take post retirement out of the equation… because man thats hard to fathom
int RetirementAge = 65;

double CurrentAge = 33.1;

int AvgVacationAmt = 17;

int AvgLongTripLength = 7;

double TotalTripsBeforeRetired = ((RetirementAge -CurrentAge )*AvgVacationAmt )/AvgLongTripLength );

puts us at about 77 trips…. now this seems like allot… but if you figure how many of those days are taken up w/ doing non life trips… like weddings (man this summer is all weddings) and vacations used as erron runs etc…. so Im thinking if I dont start planning now…it will be very easy to waste those 77 away…
so here goes, this is not prioritized, that will be the next step

  1. iceland
  2. scottland
  3. ireland
  4. belgium
  5. phillipines
  6. australia
  7. japan
  8. italy
  9. holland
  10. peru

crazy internet
posted by jim at 4:13 pm

I just did a google search for my old e-mail address.  And as it turns out, my recipe for vegan buffalo style tofu is a hit!

After I submitted this, I started to change it a little bit.  Experimenting with breading, frying then baking, marinating.  pressing tofu overnight.

then after that I started eating chickenwings.

the whole time I was vegetarian, the only food that I truly craved were hot wings.  This was my recipe to try and catch that flavor. with pictures and everything!

FIRST. BEFORE YOU READ ANY OF THIS. check out these bands:

The Riot Before actually, that site doesn’t have music, but there is a song here It’s like against me and avail got in a fight but they both won.

Endless Mike and the Beagle Club: if the polyphonic spree were punk and from johnstown (the recording is pretty awesome but doesn’t even come CLOSE to what they sound like live).
Mike and I have always said that we play in a band because at this point in our lives, we wouldn’t know how to NOT play in a band. But, it’s really easy to get jaded and tired of it. Especially because they ain’t making bands like endpoint anymore. But playing with these two awesome bands for 3 shows in a row kinda became a reminder of why we do what we do.

we also got to play with some other rad bands: flash darlings, wrack up, potboiler, tin armor, part time all stars, wild and crazy kids.

What follows is a very un-interesting recap of a very interesting weekend. some rock and roll pictures too.
